Great ideas for using the pomegranate molasses! Next time you have beets, try steaming them. You can easily peel them after they are soft.

Thanks for the tip Cristina, though, surprisingly enough I don't own a steamer or a steamer basket... I've just never found the need for one!

I bought pomegranate molasses from an Indian store in Rwanda. I’m a vegetarian and wasn’t quite sure how to use it. So I need to get experimenting. Perhaps in a grain salad with a bit of feta?

That would be delicious! Yes as I mentioned it is excellent in a grain salad (https://www.rachelphipps.com/2022/06/syrian-bulgur-wheat-salad-hazelnuts-pomegranate-walnuts.html, and also this one from my archives https://www.rachelphipps.com/2014/10/recipe-giant-israeli-couscous-with.html), with hummus, but it also makes a fantastic glaze for tofu with it's balance of sweetness and tang, you just need to add something for saltiness, and possibly as in one of my meat recipes a pinch of spice - allspice and ras el hanout are great partners with pomegranate molasses. A quick Google of how pomegranate molasses is used in Indian recipes yielded this glazed chicken recipe from a writer I love (https://maunikagowardhan.co.uk/cook-in-a-curry/kandhari-murgh-tikka-chicken-with-spices-pomegranate-molasses/) so perhaps that would be a good glaze recipe to use for the tofu, minus the yogurt for the chicken of course?

Do let me know how you get on!

Such great ideas! I just bought some homemade tofu today so I’ll try it as a glaze this weekend. Thanks!

Delicious! Healthy. This reminds me of why it is important to make your own meals. I use to simply put apple juice, spinach leaves, yogurt, honey, dark chocolate and almonds in the blender. And that was my breakfast. Now I’ll get into it again and try these ingredients out. Thanks!

I was the same, I used to be terrible at eating breakfast! For me it was having homemade bread in the house all the time and constantly making fresh loaves that turned it around for me! I've always been a jam maker, and even though bread and jam is not 100% the healthiest way to start the day it does not bother me because I know I've literally made the entire thing from scratch.
